The Issue
The web is clearly a key part of the United States and international economy, yet it is
choked with mediocre and useless sites.
They are woefully outdated or full of irrelevant/dated information.
It’s clear the original developers have neglected or abandoned these sites, and web surfers
become frustrated, sorting through mountains of pointless information in search of
something fresh and useful to them.
As much as people want to embrace the web, one of the main hurdles keeping them from
that, is the glut of purposeless dross dominating the world wide web.
A Web Surfer’s Complaint
The World Wide Web is a rich mine of information.
- goods
- services
- current events
- resources
- education
We use it to:
- shop and compare prices
- connect with like-minded people
- locate businesses and organizations that have something to offer
Yet, we who use the web to locate goods and services and resources, have to wade
through page after page of dated and useless material.
Even the promising leads we find, relating to specials and calendars of events and other
curent information, often proves misleading and obsolete.
- buried in the midst of updated info is out-of-date material
- pages are not always clearly marked; we don’t always know if it’s old news
- sites are updated piecemeal, with only some content being fresh
Consumers (we) need business owners and organizations to maintain quality sites with
useful information.
